Care Leader Role
Leading nursing care is a key aspect of this position. It involves implementing changes in accordance with HIQA standards, while also fostering innovation and creativity among staff members.
1. Conduct thorough audits to assess the quality of care provided across various areas such as medication management and daily spot checks. This includes verifying compliance with checklists used by nursing and care assistant staff.
2. Oversee the onboarding process for new residents, ensuring a smooth transition into our care facility.
3. Evaluate the unique needs of each resident, taking into account their physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being. Develop personalized care plans that address these requirements.
4. Provide guidance, support, and supervision to nursing and care staff, including training and development opportunities, task delegation, and performance evaluation.
5. Maintain a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors through proactive measures.
6. Play an active role in daily handovers, promoting effective communication among all staff caring for residents. Coordinate tasks efficiently to ensure seamless service delivery.
7. Be prepared to take charge when needed, demonstrating leadership skills in times of crisis or uncertainty.
