Job Title: Event Services Manager
As an Event Services Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of events at our hotel. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all guests and patrons are comfortable, satisfied, and well-cared for at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
* To maximize all sales opportunities and manage departmental costs effectively.
* Ensure the seamless running of all events, from planning to execution.
* Collaborate with event organizers to execute their requests and exceed their expectations.
* Represent the hotel professionally at all times and promote its services.
* Be knowledgeable about the hotel's products, services, and the competitive set.
* Understand the hotel's seasonality and high-demand periods to optimize operations.
* Take ownership of employee training and development, creating tailored training plans for new staff members.
* Prepare effective rosters aligned with business levels and shifts to ensure optimal coverage.
* Work closely with colleagues to deliver exceptional quality service.
* Follow accounting procedures as defined by the accounts department to maintain transparency and accuracy.
* Review function sheets daily and weekly to identify discrepancies before events.
* Maintain strong relationships with AV providers and communicate effectively to ensure seamless integration.
* Coordinate food requirements with the kitchen and ordering of bar stock to meet guest demands.
* Assign responsibilities to supervisors and collaborate with HR regarding recruitment and performance issues.
* Follow HR procedures for employee exits and observe service standards to maintain a positive work environment.
* Manage labor costs within the department and conduct Responsible Serving of Alcohol training for all employees.
* Ensure routine cleaning of all areas and maintain high personal hygiene standards.
* Follow the hotel's customer relation policy and promote hotel facilities and services.
* Restrict eating and drinking to staff canteen and participate in scheduled training programs.
* Familiarize yourself with and follow all personnel policies and procedures.
* Attend hotel meetings and assist with meeting room setup and service.
* Maintain flexibility to perform various roles as required by the hotel.
* Secure and record lost and found property following procedures.
* Review each function for issues and propose solutions.
* Conduct pre-function briefings and manage service equipment.
* Coordinate AV equipment maintenance and setup with relevant departments.
* Ensure all C&B Porters are trained in AV operations and maintain open communication with all departments.
* Health & Safety: Ensure the safety of yourself, colleagues, guests, and others on premises and report hazards promptly.
