Senior Commercial Sales Leader
Role Overview
This is a senior commercial leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth across high-value market segments, including MICE, Corporate, Leisure and Specialist Experiences, for a portfolio of luxury hospitality properties.
The role holds significant responsibility for shaping and executing sales strategy across domestic and international markets, cultivating key client relationships, and representing the business at the highest level within the global luxury travel and events landscape.
As a core member of the commercial leadership team, the postholder plays a central role in market positioning, revenue generation, and strategic account development, while providing leadership, direction and continuity within the wider sales function.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Market Growth
Lead the development and execution of multi-market sales strategies aligned with overarching commercial and brand objectives.
Drive sustained revenue growth across priority segments, with a particular focus on high-value international and domestic business.
Identify, pursue and convert new business opportunities through proactive market engagement and strategic account planning.
Monitor global market trends, competitor activity and evolving client expectations to inform decision‑making and maximise performance.
Deliver against agreed revenue, market share and segment performance targets.
Strategic Account & Relationship Management
Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with key clients, partners, agencies, corporates, planners and intermediaries.
Manage a portfolio of strategically important accounts, ensuring long‑term value creation and repeat business.
Lead high‑level client engagements including negotiations, presentations, hosted visits and experiential showcases.
Act as a trusted commercial partner to clients, demonstrating deep product knowledge and an understanding of luxury positioning.
Brand Representation & Market Presence
Represent the business at major international and domestic industry events, trade shows, sales missions and networking forums.
Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring consistent, premium positioning across all external engagements.
Collaborate with global partners and affiliations to enhance market reach and brand visibility.
Commercial Performance & Insight
Provide accurate forecasting, reporting and commercial insight to senior leadership.
Use data, market intelligence and performance metrics to inform strategy and optimise outcomes.
Work cross‑functionally with revenue management, marketing, reservations and operations to ensure alignment and maximise total revenue performance.
Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and commercial effectiveness.
Leadership & Team Contribution
Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring within the sales function, fostering a high‑performance, commercially focused culture.
Support the development of talent and capability within the team.
Provide continuity of leadership and decision‑making as required.
Contribute to the evolution of team structure, ways of working and commercial best practice.
Experience & Capabilities
Essential
Proven experience in senior or high‑impact sales roles within luxury hospitality, premium travel or a comparable client‑led environment.
Strong track record of developing and growing high‑value domestic and international accounts.
Demonstrated commercial acumen with the ability to think strategically and execute effectively.
Excellent negotiation, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
Experience operating confidently in international markets.
Strong analytical capability and comfort working with sales systems, data and performance reporting.
Willingness to travel as required.
Desirable
Experience working with luxury hotel brands or international affiliations.
Established network within luxury travel, MICE or corporate sales communities.
Familiarity with leading hotel or CRM systems.
