Your impact
As a Clerk of Works professional, you will play a key role in supporting the Project, ensuring construction works are delivered safely, efficiently and in full compliance with contract requirements, specifications and regulatory standards.
You will operate at the heart of site delivery, providing construction assurance, overseeing workmanship and quality, and acting as a trusted interface between site teams, project leadership and key stakeholders.
You'll also contribute to the establishment and leadership of the Engineering Assurance sub-function, supporting high-performance delivery on a technically complex scheme.
You will bring a strong site-based background with over five years' experience in construction supervision or management, ideally on major road or infrastructure schemes.
You're comfortable operating at the sharp end of delivery—inspecting works, challenging standards where needed, and ensuring everything on site aligns with specifications, regulations and best practice.
From earthworks and drainage to bridges and structures, you understand what good looks like and you know how to uphold it in a live, urban construction environment.
This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys being close to the work, values quality and safety, and is motivated by delivering infrastructure that will benefit communities for generations.
Assist the NEC4 Project Supervisor in overseeing all construction assurance activities on site
Inspect and monitor workmanship, quality and safety across civil works including earthworks, drainage, bridges and structures
Ensure works comply with Works Requirements, specifications, Irish Building Regulations and Health & Safety standards
Support the establishment and leadership of the Engineering Assurance sub-functional area
Contribute to financial, resource and programme planning for the scheme
Coordinate and oversee day-to-day activities of Clerks of Works within the team
Act as a key point of contact between site, project core teams and relevant stakeholders
Encourage knowledge transfer and collaboration across consultant and client teams
Support reporting requirements in line with governance and PMO expectations
Embed a culture of continuous improvement and best practice across site activities
Here's what you'll need
5+ years' experience in construction management / supervision on large-scale road or infrastructure projects
Strong knowledge of civil and structural works and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications
Experience working within Irish Building Regulations, planning processes and Health & Safety requirements
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent attention to detail
Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
The confidence to manage multiple priorities and contribute to team leadership
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
Safepass accreditation
Chartered / Incorporated / Associate Engineer status or working towards same (desirable)
