Paediatric Occupational Therapist Job Description


The role of a paediatric occupational therapist involves providing specialist therapy to children and young people with developmental, physical, sensory or cognitive challenges. This includes conducting comprehensive assessments to identify any delays or difficulties in development.
Main Responsibilities:
* Conducting thorough assessments of children's abilities and identifying areas where they may require support.
* Developing and implementing individualized intervention plans that cater to each child's unique needs.
* Collaborating with families and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for the child.
A key aspect of this job is working closely with families and carers to establish goals that are meaningful to them. Providing education, training, and coaching on therapeutic strategies helps empower parents to implement these recommendations in their daily routines.
In addition, as an occupational therapist you will work closely with educational professionals including teachers special needs assistants as well as school staff who can provide accommodations modification facilitating smooth transitions between services promoting participation inclusion community activities.
