The Role of a Residential Support Worker
As a Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing care and support to individuals in a residential setting. This involves assisting with all aspects of daily living, such as personal care, household duties, and community activities.
You will work closely with the team to empower service users to live independent lives, promoting their autonomy and dignity. This includes supporting them in developing life skills, accessing community resources, and making informed decisions about their care.
In addition to providing direct care, you will also participate in household duties, such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry. You may also be required to transport service users to appointments and activities.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
* QQI relevant qualification within the Healthcare Sector - Minimum Level 5
* Applicants must be 18+
* Full clean manual driving license and access to own transport
* Excellent command of spoken and written English
* Knowledge of HIQA standards
* Work or student experience in social care or relevant sector
