Head of PMO & Portfolio
Overall Job Purpose:
The role of the PMO Support is to provide specialist support expertise for PMO, programme, and project managers. They will serve as experts and play a proactive role in supporting PMO, Programme, and Project managers to apply programme and project management methods and implement best practice processes. This includes applying practical management controls to improve project and organizational performance.
Responsibilities:
1. Development and maintenance of a Project Management toolkit
2. Quality Assurance
3. Stage Gate support and sign-off
4. FSOC (Forward Schedule of Change)
5. Capability and Capacity management (flex up, down)
6. Learning and Development programmes
7. Communities of Practice
8. Induction support
9. Integrated Planning
10. Support adoption and delivery of corporate governance expectations
11. Share information, good practice, and expertise with others
12. Risk mitigation / RAID logs
13. Project board meetings: preparing packs, presenting at C-suite level, scheduling, taking minutes & actions
14. Work closely with and support the Project/Programme Manager
Qualifications:
1. Degree in a relevant subject (IT, Business Studies, etc.)
2. Prince2/PMI/PM Certification
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
4. Excellent understanding of the project lifecycle
5. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
6. Proven success in a similar role
7. Good knowledge of industry-standard best practices in Portfolio and Programme Management
8. Proficient in MS Office, MS Visio, and MS Project
9. Experience with PPM tools
10. Good IT knowledge
