Occupational Therapist Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic multidisciplinary service providing vital services to adults with complex mental health needs in the community.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention as part of a Community Mental Health Team, leading on service development initiatives, supervising junior staff, and contributing to the ongoing enhancement of the Occupational Therapy service within the community setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Comprehensive OT Assessments: Providing comprehensive OT assessments and evidence-based interventions to adults in an acute mental health setting.
* Caseload Management: Managing own caseload and assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment programmes for service users according to service standards.
* Staff Supervision: Supervising staff, prioritizing work, and promoting positive staff morale and team working.
* Service Leadership: Leading service planning, anticipating changing needs, and supervising a Staff Grade Occupational Therapist and/or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will require:
* Proven experience as an Occupational Therapist in a mental health setting.
* Degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
* Postgraduate qualification or training in mental health would be advantageous.
