About Your New Job:
This is a temporary 5-month assignment at Senior Enforcement Manager (Assistant Principal) level, reporting to a senior director within a civil enforcement function.
The role offers a varied and challenging portfolio, with initial responsibility for leading and managing a specialist Assessment Unit that reviews and triages incoming complaints, referrals and statutory reports, and determines appropriate regulatory or enforcement pathways.
This is a senior operational role with significant exposure to complex and high-impact matters.
What You Will Do
* Support senior leadership in the management of a civil enforcement function
* Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of a specialist assessment team
* Review and assess complaints, referrals and statutory reports to determine seriousness, risk and next steps
* Promote compliance through proportionate civil and regulatory measures
* Identify matters requiring escalation or referral to specialist enforcement or legal teams
* Prepare clear, concise briefing notes and reports to support senior decision-making
* Develop, review and improve internal procedures and methodologies
* Lead, mentor and manage staff, including performance and development
* Manage case workflows and oversee data analysis to identify trends and risks
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required
* Contribute to wider public interest and advocacy objectives
Who You Are
* A relevant third-level qualification (e.g. law, accounting, business or similar)
* Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in a relevant legal, regulatory, compliance or enforcement environment
* At least 3 years' experience in a leadership or people management role
* Strong knowledge of company law and regulatory processes
* Excellent professional judgement and decision-making capability
* Proven ability to analyse complex information and identify key risks
* Confident communicator, comfortable operating at senior level
* Strong leadership and organisational skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Strong alignment with public service values and the public interest
