DescriptionThe primary purpose of this role is to provide direct leadership to the asset management baggage O&M teams, ensuring the ongoing operation of the baggage halls & asset availability of Dublin Airport's 14km of automated baggage conveyor system assets, through an optimized & risk-based approach, a supportive continuous improvement culture & aligned to our ISO55001 standards. The role is predominantly a day role but may require flexibility for out of hours attendance. The role holder will lead 4 x 24/7 shift teams with the team leads reporting in directly and the team members indirectly. This role will initially report to the Asset Management Head of Baggage or delegate as requiredResponsibilitiesProvide direct leadership to the front-line Operations & Maintenance teams for baggage.Identify professional development needs and ensure delivery of appropriate training and support mechanisms.Responsible and accountable for resource management of the baggage O&M teams to ensure availability of competent personnel to deliver on our service requirements.Responsible for absence management processes for the teams. Actively engage with all systems to ensure that administration of the time and attendance system is aligned with requirements of the role and with the objective of ensuring full attendance.Lead a lean & effective maintenance plan for monitoring of assets, to meet operational and safety standards and auditing records, ensuring completion of planned, reactive, and emergency maintenance across all baggage handling system assets.Ensure the delivery of all statutory inspections in line with the relevant requirements.Promote & develop practices which ensure the highest standards in relation to H&S, and complete regular audits of same. Developing a best-in-class H&S culture is a key responsibility of the role and will require an ongoing, consistent, & innovative approach at all times, to eliminate and mitigate for risks in accordance with the principles within the hierarchy of controls.Drive quality & standards improvements for work practices within the teams, with and via the team leads, and step-up team leads.Take an active and leading role in identifying, developing, and rolling out technology-based systems and tools to ensure the optimisation of resources.Actively contribute to logistics management by ensuring that the teams accurately record all parts used in a timely manner and in alignment with the required processes for inventory management. And collaborate with logistics management to highlight and remedy risks in relation to parts availability or suitability. Engage with BHS and asset management teams to ensure a continuous improvement culture is embedded within the teams and supported by management to deliver customer driven & value add improvements. Ensure personnel are trained and competent for their roles and that induction of new staff supports this.Drive the continued development of cross-skilling and technical skill sets within the teams.Responsible for ensuring that baggage operations are run efficiently and effectively by the O&M teams and do not create negative customer impact.Responsible for consistent high performance of a world class BHS control room to ensure our customer's needs are met and airline/handlers front line communications are handled professionally and courteously.Proactively engage with key stakeholders to ensure that our service offering is aligned with their requirements.Qualifications6+ years as a fully qualified mechanical or electrical craftsperson.Demonstrable competence in leadership & motivation of individuals & teams, both directly and indirectly.Knowledge of and competence with the regulatory requirements of the CAR QoS measures.Knowledge and experience on the requirements for statutory inspection and testing of M&E assets.Stakeholder management experience is essential.Excellent technical knowledge of automation systems, from an elec and/or mech background.Experience with PLC and Scada systems is essential. Experience of implementing & operating structured planned preventive maintenance regimes.Airport Baggage operational experience is essential.Experience of financial elements of an operational role desirable. (e.g. opex budgets)Report writing and incident investigation experience essential.Competent IT skills including Microsoft office and similar IT systems and software.High level of interpersonal skills, including communication and judgement, a team player, capable of working both collaboratively and independently.High attention to detail and quality of own work/work of others/standards.Strong sense of ownership and tenacity for delivery of results.Committed to daa values & leadership standards
