As a Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the accuracy and compliance of financial information. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will lead financial reporting, oversee statutory accounts, and ensure rigorous financial controls that align with IFRS and Irish GAAP. This role offers the chance to provide expert technical guidance, enhance internal policies, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Lead production of statutory accounts in line with IFRS and Irish GAAP
Provide technical guidance on complex accounting areas, such as revenue recognition, leases, and provisions
Produce management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
Own and enhance accounting policies and internal control frameworks, ensuring robust financial governance and regulatory compliance
Maintain compliance with all regulatory, statutory, and reporting requirements
Ensure a strong financial control environment, including balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and journal review
Lead audit processes and act as the primary contact for external auditors
Monitor and implement changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger and supporting financial data
Review complex journals, accruals, and reconciliations
Collaborate with stakeholders to provide financial insight and technical advice
Support budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes
Drive process improvements, automation efforts, and system enhancements
Required Skills
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
Proven senior-level experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting, audit, and compliance
Extensive knowledge of IFRS and Irish GAAP standards
Expertise in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management accounts
Strong command of internal controls, balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and journal reviews
Proficient with ERP systems and advanced Excel capabilities
Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under tight deadlines
Experience collaborating with auditors and providing technical guidance on complex accounting topics
