Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Labour Manager to support the successful execution of multiple concurrent projects. This role is critical in ensuring that site activities are aligned with project schedules, productivity targets are met, and any delivery risks are proactively identified and mitigated.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MEP systems and site operations, with the ability to interpret technical documentation, assess site conditions, and collaborate with project stakeholders to drive performance and resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities
* Productivity & Progress Monitoring
* Track and report on daily and weekly productivity metrics across multiple sites.
* Identify deviations from planned progress and escalate risks to the Building Services Director and Project Director.
* Conduct root cause analysis of productivity issues and propose corrective actions.
* Technical Oversight
* Review and interpret MEP drawings, specifications, and installation methodologies.
* Attend site coordination meetings to stay informed of technical challenges and progress.
* Support the resolution of technical issues by liaising with design teams, subcontractors, and site managers.
* Delivery Assurance
* Ensure that all site activities are aligned with the master programme and look-ahead schedules.
* Monitor material availability, resource allocation, and subcontractor performance.
* Work with the Site Manager and Project Director to implement recovery plans where delays are identified.
* Communication & Reporting
* Provide clear, concise updates to senior management on site status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
* Maintain detailed records of site visits, observations, and actions taken.
* Support the preparation of client-facing reports and presentations as required.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and standardisation across sites.
* Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
* Contribute to post-project reviews and lessons learned exercises.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* 5+ years’ experience in a site-based role within MEP contracting or construction.
* Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, installation sequencing, and commissioning processes.
* Proven ability to assess site conditions and diagnose technical and logistical issues.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
* Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asta Powerproject) and reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI, Excel).
* Full clean driving license and flexibility to travel to sites across Ireland and Europe.
Desirable Qualifications
* Degree or diploma in Building Services Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial projects (e.g., data centres, pharma).
* Familiarity with Lean Construction principles and productivity tracking tools.
* IOSH/SMSTS or equivalent health and safety certification.
