Currently searching for aProject Design Manager to join a market-leading water infrastructure contractor delivering essential MEICA projects in Ireland. This is a pivotal role for an engineer with the technical knowledge and leadership experience to manage the end-to-end design process, from concept to construction support. Responsibilities; Lead the design delivery for multiple water and wastewater treatment projects Coordinate mechanical and multidisciplinary design teams across all phases Manage internal and external consultants, ensuring compliance with Irish Water frameworks Support the tendering process with technical input and design risk management Oversee document control, design review meetings, and technical submissions Ensure constructability, operability, and maintainability are considered throughout Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous development of the team Liaise with project managers, site teams, and clients to align design with delivery timelines Requirements; 6+ years experience in mechanical engineering within the water/wastewater sector. Proven track record of design management on complex treatment plant projects. Strong understanding of Irish Water standards and specifications. Experience leading and growing technical design teams (internal & external). Familiarity with BIM, 3D modelling, hydraulic calculations, and MEICA integration. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive efficient project delivery. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (Chartered preferred).
