Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Staff Nurse to join our team within the Acute Medicine Unit at Raigmore Hospital.
The Acute Medicine Unit covers an Acute Assessment Unit, Ambulatory Emergency Care and Medical High Dependency Unit.
The Acute Assessment Unit (Ward GA) admits acutely unwell patients direct from the community and Emergency Department.
This is a fast paced and interesting environment to work within.
On a daily basis you will be responsible for leading your team, promoting and providing high-quality care and developing a positive ward culture.
You will encourage best practice to deliver high quality patient care at all times, supervising qualified and unqualified staff members.
Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent leadership, confident communication and effective organizational skills.
Evidence of personal development will be expected with a willingness to contribute to education and quality improvement.
You should be able to work well as part of a large and diverse multidisciplinary team.
Candidates should have excellent care values and a strong sense of team spirit, coupled with a sense of humour.
Candidates should have enthusiasm to work, learn and develop yourself and colleagues within the exciting and challenging high-pressure environment.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise both qualified and unqualified staff to deliver high-quality patient care.
Promote best practice and contribute to the development of a positive ward culture.
Demonstrate leadership, effective communication and strong organizational skills in a fast-paced Acute Medicine environment.
Qualifications and Skills
Excellent leadership, confident communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a large, multidisciplinary team.
