Senior Accountant FMCG | Clonmel A leading FMCG organisation based in Clonmel is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team.Read on to find out what you will need to succeed in this position, including skills, qualifications, and experience.Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position plays a key role in supporting both Finance and Operations, acting as a strategic link between the two functions.The Senior Accountant will gain significant exposure at factory level, working closely with key operational departments including Production, Innovation, ESG, Engineering, and Quality.This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded accountant who wants to deepen their experience within a manufacturing environment and contribute to decision-making across multiple sites.The ideal candidate is a dynamic, ambitious finance professional who is eager to broaden their operational understanding, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and continue developing strong management and leadership capabilities.Key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Prepare and review monthly management accounts to the highest standards on time, ensuring accuracy and appropriate supporting details are in place.Prepare and review the weekly production pack plus variance analysis for management purposes.Reviewing standard costing versus actual costings for all products.Communicate and post intercompany recharges and reconcile intercompany accounts.Prepare and submit all regulatory, tax and statistical returns on a timely basis.Liaise and assist Finance Manager in the preparation of annual Budgets.Stock control & stock reconciliations for multiple stock locations.Assist in the implementation, maintenance and control of the stock management system and IT system developments.Liaise with external auditors as required.Liaising and co-operate with the SLT.Ensure a strong financial control environment exists at all times.Review, improve, automate and implement standardized processes on a continuous rolling basis.Assisting in the preparation of Grants & R&D TC claims.Be point of contact for escalation of more complex AP/AR issues.Contribute to wider Finance Team initiatives as required.Ad hoc reporting as required.Skills/Experience: ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA qualified accountant with 1/2 years industry experience in a similar role.Demonstrate the leadership ability to oversee and develop the accounting administration team is essential.Strong IT skills, highly proficient in Excel, knowledge of Insight a distinct advantage.Ideal candidate: Interested in Manufacturing Sector and in getting a proper understanding of a business/sector.Great direct communicator (in person or on the phone) interested in engaging directly with Operations and Supply chain which is part of the role.Must be fundamentally an accurate producer of data.High level of personal ambition and professionalism.Ability to lead from the front demonstrating high levels of professionalism.Has ability to impact positively on those around them and ensure a positive working environment.Ability to work to and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong analytical ability, excellent numerical and problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.Flexible and adaptable.Proactive and willing to grow and develop within the role and the company.A team player who is able to work on their own initiative.On offer: Competitive Base Salary depending on experience with a KPI bonus attached.Pension.Life Assurance Cover of 1 Year post probation.
