Our client in medical technology is currently looking for an R&D Manager in County Wexford.
We are looking for a profile like yours to lead advanced product development activities within what is a highly regulated environment (so prior industry experience will be crucial).

The Role
As R&D Manager, you will lead and coordinate new product development activities across the full lifecycle, from concept through industrialisation and market launch. You will manage R&D teams, ensure cross-functional alignment, and deliver projects in line with quality, regulatory, and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate medical device product development activities across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Clinical, and Commercial teams
* Own project planning, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for new product development programs
* Oversee device design, process development, verification and validation activities
* Support design transfer to manufacturing and scale-up activities
* Ensure development documentation and processes comply with FDA, ISO, and internal quality systems
* Mentor, coach, and develop R&D engineers and project leaders
* Manage departmental budgets and contribute to cost optimisation initiatives
Your Profile
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
* 8+ years of experience in R&D or process development, ideally within medical devices or another regulated industry
* Strong knowledge of medical device development, manufacturing, and quality systems (FDA/QSR, ISO)
* Experience with process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) and verification & validation activities
* Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and complex development projects
* Excellent communication skills and a structured, analytical approach
* Six Sigma or Design for Six Sigma training is a strong advantage
