Slaughter Line Manager Position
This role entails overseeing the efficient operation of slaughter line facilities, including animal intake, evisceration, and storage, while ensuring productivity levels are met.
Main Responsibilities:
1 Manage carcass loading, chill operation, and other key processes to optimize production efficiency.
2 Collaborate with maintenance teams to maintain uptime and plan for production delivery, promoting root cause analysis and problem-solving strategies.
3 Provide regular reports on daily, weekly, and monthly activity, productivity, costs, deviations, initiatives, and actions.
4 Ensure animal welfare from livestock vehicles through lairage to stunning is maintained at all times.
5 Ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
6 Proactively manage slaughter line performance, including delivery of preventative maintenance systems.
7 Optimize raw material utilization to minimize waste.
8 Liaise with onsite regulatory representatives to ensure legal and regulatory animal slaughter standards are met.
9 Develop staff in SOP management, operator training, and maintain a comprehensive slaughter training matrix.
10 Implement cost controls related to labor, including absenteeism and resource levels.
11 Maintain adherence to health and safety requirements and ensure required standards are upheld by staff.
12 Oversee the operation of payment data collecting systems, including SOPs and records from lairage to scales.
13 Support change management and lean management initiatives within the organization.
14 Adhere to environmental policies and ensure sustainable practices are implemented.
15 Identify problems promptly and implement effective solutions through line management, ensuring timely communication.
