IT Program Manager
Location: Ireland (Hybrid - Flexible)
Contract: Initial 6-month daily rate contract with strong potential for extension
About the Role
Our client is undergoing a major business transformation program and is seeking an experienced IT Program Manager to lead the technology workstreams of this initiative. This is a pivotal role, acting as the key liaison between IT and the wider business, ensuring successful delivery of large-scale transformation projects within scope, time, and budget.
As the IT Program Manager, you will oversee multiple PMO-led initiatives, drive agile delivery, and ensure the seamless integration of IT strategies into the broader organisational goals. You will play a central role in aligning stakeholders, managing risk, and driving successful outcomes across technology domains.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and coordinate IT projects to ensure aligned, efficient delivery.
* Lead and support project managers, maintaining consistency in governance and reporting.
* Manage program scope, timelines, budgets, and dependencies.
* Embed proactive risk management and issue resolution.
* Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing clear updates on progress and outcomes.
* Report program status and insights to IT and business leadership.
* Lead steering meetings and ensure effective governance and accountability.
* Track KPIs and metrics to guide decisions and measure success.
* Collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective IT outcomes.
* Maintain an integrated program plan and ensuring adherence to governance standards.
Key Requirements
* Proven experience as a Program Manager or Senior Project Manager delivering complex IT transformation programs.
* Strong background in Agile delivery environments.
* Experience working within cloud environments - AWS, Azure, or both.
* Demonstrated success managing budgets, risks, and governance in enterprise-scale initiatives.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills - capable of influencing at all levels of the business.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on quick delivery and value realisation.
* Experience within a large-scale or matrixed organisation undergoing digital or IT transformation highly desirable.
