Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for the supervision of all daily/planned preventative maintenance activities; coordinating and allocating appropriate resources as necessary to ensure that all maintenance is carried out as scheduled, take ownership of unplanned stoppages and ensure that all maintenance activities are recorded and documented accurately.
The key duties of the role include.
* Install, repair, and maintain all mechanical production equipment to ensure maximum operational efficiency.
* Manage and maintain the onsite Pemac maintenance system, ensuring all planned maintenance tasks are completed and all unplanned work is accurately recorded.
* Supervise and support a team of shift and day maintenance personnel, promoting a high-performance and safety-focused culture.
* Demonstrate expertise in chemical pumping systems, including diaphragm, magnetic drive, and gear pumps.
* Read, interpret, and work from pneumatic and hydraulic drawings to troubleshoot and maintain related systems.
* Produce weekly reports on maintenance KPIs, team performance, and ongoing projects, highlighting key issues to the Maintenance Manager.
* Identify and support process improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and production efficiency.
* Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel.
It is essential that the applicant is a qualified time served Mechanical Fitter with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience within a similar manufacturing environment. Experience and knowledge in the implementation of Lean, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma and other Quality frameworks and a confirmed desire to continuously improve own knowledge, skills and qualifications in Lean Manufacturing principles is desirable.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a flexible attitude, can work on their own initiative and as part of a team, achieve targets and prioritise workload, be able to meet the physical and health requirements of the role, have strong communication skills and be computer literate.
