This key role involves spearheading the optimization of injection molding processes, tooling, and automation to drive both new product introductions and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement standard process specifications for new products.
2. Apply statistical and engineering techniques to optimize injection molding processes.
3. Troubleshoot processing issues in collaboration with production and quality teams.
4. Collaborate closely with tooling designers and automation teams to enhance existing systems.
5. Support and implement continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
6. Maintain documentation in line with ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485 standards.
7. Assist in employee training on new technologies and process changes.
8. Liaise with customers, equipment manufacturers, and raw material suppliers.
9. Support real-time monitoring and reporting systems where applicable.
10. Contribute to the development and implementation of lean manufacturing practices.
Requirements
* National Diploma in Plastics Engineering (Degree preferred).
* 4–5 years' experience in the injection molding industry.
* Strong knowledge of injection molding tooling, processes, and equipment.
* Experience with multi-component molding and automation systems.
* Preferably experienced in medical, packaging, or high-tech sectors.
* Familiarity with real-time monitoring systems is a plus.
* In-depth understanding of SPC, DOE, and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Working knowledge of WCM, JIT, SMED, and Kaizen principles.
* Proficiency in MS Office; experience with integrated manufacturing systems (MFG Pro is a plus).
* Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work independently.
