Synergy Control Engineer
Our Client is a high-tech, start-up that leverages patented IP in extreme ultraviolet (EUV) light source design to build a unique lab-scale soft x-ray imaging microscope. With its first-generation product launched in 2023, it targets a large niche global market of disease and drug research organisations.
The microscope produces tomograms of frozen biological cells providing critical information on internal cell structure, essential for understanding disease causation and developing effective therapies and vaccines. A very small laser-produced plasma generates the soft X-rays and efficiently couples them to the microscope.
As a System Control Engineer, you will join the development team in Dublin. Your role involves continuous development of the control interface to a complex microscope with ~30 axes of motion, vacuum control, temperature monitoring, multiple camera interfaces, and digital and analogue IO.
Your responsibilities will include instrumentation integration, bench testing components, system documentation, experimental design and setup, system construction and testing, system debugging and troubleshooting, and light data analysis.
Key Criteria
To be successful, you should have at least three years of experience as a controls engineer, automation engineer, systems engineer, or related disciplines. You will also be assessed based on your problem-solving abilities, hands-on experience with complex systems, and strong communication skills.
Desirable Skills
You may also possess experience with PLCs, Motion Control, Microcontroller programming, LabVIEW, and Solidworks Electrical. The ideal candidate has a multidisciplinary team-player attitude and is dynamic and 'hands-on'.
We are seeking agile and hard-working staff who have the ambition to grow their careers as our company grows.
