OverviewProject Engineer (Mechanical) at Veolia Ireland. Location: Kilkenny Head Office. Duration: Permanent. Work Hours/Schedule: Role will be a mix of office/site-based and work-from-home; Monday to Friday.Due to growth across the Water division, Veolia is seeking an enthusiastic Project Engineer to join the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) Team. The successful candidate will work on a wide scope of water and wastewater treatment projects across the Island of Ireland, coordinating a multi-disciplined team (process/mechanical/civil/structural/electrical) involved in Water and Wastewater Treatment projects nationwide.The Project Engineer will assist in the design and development of contracts from early design through to delivery, preparing delivery documentation for client submissions, managing sub-consultants, and coordinating health & safety documentation, detailed design packages, tendering documentation and construction design packages. During delivery, the Project Engineer will liaise with design teams and suppliers, manage subcontractors and commissioning teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.Day to Day ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of delegated projects and project issuesEnsure thorough knowledge and understanding of the contract for all assigned projectsEvaluate client specifications and liaise with clients and client representativesCommunicate with the Project Manager, Design Leads and Sub-Consultants during the project executionCollaborate with a multi-disciplined engineering team on final design, equipment selection and procurementOrganise, co-ordinate and manage design activities while maintaining health & safety in line with Veolia standardsManage project aspects within defined budgets and timelines, monitoring adherence to the project brief and programmeApply procedures related to contract executionRequired Skills and QualificationsMinimum NFQ Level 7 degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) and/or Science disciplinePractical site experience (desirable)Experience as part of a project team from initial stages to deliveryExperience in coordinating design/site activitiesAbility to work on own initiative and effectively coordinate design/site activitiesExperience in water/wastewater engineering projects (desirable)IT skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPointGood organisational and time management skillsSelf-motivated with strong communication and writing skillsOther InformationRight to work in Ireland: EU/EEA nationals will be asked to provide proof of right to work.
