Talent based in the new technology hub will be charged with developing and implementing best-in-class standards for high- quality, scalable software deliveries for SiriusXM’s streaming and in-vehicle audio entertainment platforms.How you’ll make an impact:As a member of the software test team at SiriusXM, you will be joining a team of Software Development Engineers and Test Engineers responsible fordeveloping the SiriusXM test automation framework, and testing of SiriusXM software and products related, but not limited to in-vehicle infotainment systems and aftermarket SiriusXM productsThe Software Engineer III role will be responsible for developing test scripts, triaging and fixing issues, and designing test procedures to ensure that software programs work as intended. This position will be a part of the software development team. The successful candidate will have the ability to work in a cooperative manner with software engineers, product, and program managers.What you’ll do:Work with software engineers, program managers, requirements managers, and other product stakeholders to understand product features and the complete set of requirements to the software.Development of automated test cases to test the middlewareWork closely with development and test teams to ensure the effectiveness and quality of the components and systems developed.Develop, maintain, and execute test scripts, ensuring the quality and stability of the system throughout the projectGenerate testing completion metrics and analysis, as well as status read-outs to upper managementDevelop, implement, maintain, and enhance test plans, test scripts, traceability matrices, and test methodologies that ensure exhaustive testing of all assigned software systems to ensure compliance with software/system specifications.Anticipate potential software problems by creating test scenarios.What you’ll need:BS Engineering or SW Engineering, Computer Science, computer Engineering or equivalent experience required. MS Engineering is desired.At least 3-5 years of experience inmodern C/C++Troubleshooting - Good skills in identifying and resolving technicaland networking/communicationissues throughout the entire technology stackExperience with automated testing methodologies and frameworks, preferably Google TestSolid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principlesSkilled in utilizing CMake for efficient build configuration and dependencymanagementTroubleshooting - Exceptional ability to isolate & troubleshoot technical issues across the full technology stack by leveraging automated testing methodologiesStrong communication skills, verbal and writtenAbility to work independently and in a team environment.Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.History working with automation frameworks creating automated test scriptsWhat is a plus:Understanding of dependency injection andSoftware Design PatternsExperience with proxy servers and related technologies,Charles (It is an HTTP proxy / HTTP monitor / Reverse Proxy that lets a developer view all of the HTTP and SSL / HTTPS traffic between their machine and the Internet.) and virtualization port tools like VSPE, COM2COMExperience in test automation Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., MSTest NUnit)Experience with Code Coverage tools and procedures is a plusExperience with Python scripts Ability to work seamlessly across both Linux and Windows development environments, and experience with cross-compilation and Android build toolsExperience with embedded systems or device-specific testing frameworks for the structured, device-oriented automated test frameworkExperience with GitOur goal at SiriusXM is to provide and maintain a work environment that fosters mutual respect, professionalism and cooperation.
