As a Staff Software Engineer, you will direct a devoted team enthusiastic about the kernel security of Play Station devices.
This is a unique opportunity to impact the security architecture of our premier gaming systems Strengthen our security team at our Dublin office and collaborate with a global console security group.
You will refine low-level code and find innovative methods to engage with the OSS community.
Your expertise will help maintain Play Station platforms as the leading place to play Key Responsibilities Lead a small team in the analysis and improvement of kernel security for Play Station devices.
Collaborate with global teams to ensure alignment and successful implementation of security measures.
Apply your skills in software development using C and C++ to contribute to the security framework.
Understand and implement code hardening techniques to protect our systems.
Work closely with validation teams to review code patches, confirming there is no performance impact or regression.
Integrate external patches into our codebase and explain these changes to development teams.
Suggest improvements in various areas based on your experience and develop preliminary models to demonstrate these ideas.
Conduct daily scrum meetings and regularly follow up with the manager on team direction and goals.
Provide mentorship for junior members on the team.
About You Confirmed experience in C/C++ software engineering with a focus on security.
Strong communication and social skills.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, diverse environment.
Eager to learn new skills and share your knowledge with others.
Solid grasp of code hardening procedures and objectives.
Experience working alongside validation teams and grasping the impact of code patches.
Ability to identify fresh improvement opportunities and construct proof of concepts.
