Join Vertiv as a Structural Design Engineer in our Skidded Switchgear Solutions team and play a key role in shaping the future of modular solutions for data centres, industrial facilities and critical infrastructure. You will lead the design of innovative, sustainable structural solutions that support AI‑driven technology and next‑generation data centre environments.
What you’ll do
Design skidded steel structures for low‑ to medium‑complexity modular steel buildings, preparing 3D models, performing static and dynamic calculations, and generating workshop drawings, lifting and anchoring layouts, and specifications.
Apply international, national and internal standards to ensure designs are safe, compliant and cost‑effective, integrating good engineering practices at every stage.
Participate in project kick‑off and coordination meetings, collaborating with architectural, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing and site engineers to ensure cohesive execution.
Review and technically approve subcontractor workshop documentation and supplier offers, specifying materials, services and required certifications.
Support fabrication, assembly and site activities, working with site managers, manufacturing, quality control and commissioning engineers to resolve structural issues and ensure safe implementation.
Requirements
Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
3+ years of experience, with firm theoretical knowledge backed by practice.
Fluent in English.
Proficiency in Tekla, Revit, AutoCAD, Inventor, Ansys, anchoring design tools and MS Office.
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, creativity, problem‑solving, organisation, flexibility and team collaboration.
Nice to have
Experience with modular or prefabricated steel construction.
Familiarity with lifting and transport design documentation.
Understanding of Eurocodes and international design standards for steel structures.
