As our business grows, we are looking for an experienced Workshop Manager who can lead our team of technicians while also rolling up their sleeves and contributing directly to the work on the shop floor.
Role Overview:
The Workshop Manager will oversee daily operations of the workshop, ensuring efficiency, high-quality repairs, and excellent customer satisfaction. This is a dual role where you'll not only manage the team but also take part in hands-on mechanical work when required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and supervise workshop staff, including scheduling, delegating tasks, and monitoring performance.
* Carry out mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and servicing of vehicles.
* Ensure all jobs are completed to the highest standard, within time and budget.
* Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient working environment.
* Provide technical guidance and support to other technicians.
* Liaise with customers, providing clear explanations and updates.
* Monitor stock, order parts, and manage workflow effectively.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in automotive repair and workshop management (or senior technician role).
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Ability to balance hands-on technical work with management responsibilities.
* Up-to-date knowledge of diagnostic tools, repair methods, and industry standards.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Valid driver's license.
