Overview
Podiatrist position in Dublin for part-time or full-time, permanent roles. Salary ranges from €50,000 to €77,000. Working hours can be combined with weekday hours at another clinic to make full-time hours if preferred. Role and responsibilities
* Treat a variety of skin ailments such as verrucas, corns, and calluses.
* Assess and treat ingrown toenails, clip toenails, and provide general foot care.
* Care for patients with diabetes at increased risk of foot disease who require preventative care and assistance.
* Determine the condition of a patient’s feet, ankles, or lower legs by reviewing medical history, listening to concerns, and performing a physical examination.
* Diagnose foot, ankle, and lower-leg problems through physical exams and other methods.
* Provide treatment for foot, ankle, and lower leg ailments, such as prescribing orthotics to improve and correct foot and ankle deformities.
* Offer advice and instruction on foot and ankle care and general wellness techniques.
* Educate patients on how to improve conditions and prevent recurrence.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as GPs and physiotherapists, to exchange information about patient progress; refer to other physicians or specialists when appropriate (e.g., detect larger health problems such as diabetes).
* Meet continuous education requirements and maintain an up-to-date CPD folder.
* Write patient case notes and reports, collect statistics, manage payments, and issue receipts.
* Place stock orders and log repairs as needed.
* In some cases, supervise student and junior podiatrists and contribute to teaching.
* Manage clinical risk and maintain strong infection control awareness.
* Be caring, compassionate and professional with the patient at the core of all activities.
* Contribute to creating blogs and content for social media and other marketing channels when needed.
* Work with the marketing team to provide on-the-ground feedback as required.
Experience and qualifications
* BSc or MSc in Podiatry (essential).
* CORU registration (essential).
* Member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists Ireland (SCPI) (essential).
* Professional Indemnity Insurance (essential).
* Private practice experience (preferred).
* New graduates welcome.
