Our client is a leading international Biotechnology company with a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in South Dublin. The plant is one of the most dynamic in Ireland and is currently undergoing a rapid expansion. Our client is on the lookout for an Electrical Engineer to join the ever-growing team to assist with the design of switchgear assemblies.The ideal candidate should have previous experience with design of low voltage switchgear products. Candidates must have Irish work experience. Minimum of 6 years’ post graduate experience.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in all aspects of electrical design of Switchgear control units, including basis of design, conceptual design, the scope of work.Drive project tasks and milestones assigned by management.Create new and review existing designs.Maintain and apply knowledge in all pertinent aspects of design disciplines including products, and applicable codes.Apply discipline-specific technical standards and procedures.Assess the requirements of a project, break a project into tasks, and work with a Project Manager to determine scope of work, budget and staffing.Prepare scope of work for electrical design based on preliminary review and meetings with the client.Prepare engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyze operation of existing systems.Work effectively with project design team.Check progress of work and alert Production Manager to changes in scope or additional requirements.Have a thorough understanding of the applicable electrical standards.Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within the company and externally with clients and other design professionals.Promote use of and participate in continued development of company design and manufacturing standards.Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.Provide drawings for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings by drafters.Research best design options and develop Bills of Material.Ensure that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards and in accordance with the relevant national standards.Qualifications & RequirementsDegree or higher in an appropriate engineering discipline.Minimum of 5 years’ post graduate experience.Low Voltage switchgear design experience highly preferable.Experience in the production of drawings, calculations, schedules & specifications for a range of building types.Familiar with working with REVIT, BIM platforms.Strong engineering fundamentals, including design principles, equipment, materials, and fabrication methods.Ability to organize work and manage time to meet tight deadlines.Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer aided drafting (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
