Role Overview
The Social Care Assistant will support adults with intellectual disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives in a person-centred residential setting. The role involves promoting dignity, choice, and independence while delivering high-quality care in line with
HIQA standards
and the
New Directions model
.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and uphold the rights, dignity, and choices of individuals using the service
* Encourage independence, personal development, and decision-making
* Assist with daily living skills, personal care, and wellbeing
* Work in line with individual care plans and service goals
* Contribute to continuous improvement of care practices
Essential Requirements
* QQI Level 5 (8 modules) in Social Care, Healthcare, or Nursing
* Minimum 1 year's experience supporting vulnerable adults
* Full clean driving licence and own transport
* Strong English communication and IT skills
* Knowledge of HIQA regulations and New Directions

Role Overview
As a Social Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting and empowering adults with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives. You will uphold each individual's rights, dignity, and personal choices while delivering high-quality, person-centred care in line with HIQA standards and the New Directions model.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and promote the human, legal, and constitutional rights of each person using the service.
* Facilitate and encourage decision-making, independence, and personal development.
* Provide support in daily living skills, including personal hygiene, health, and appearance.
* Work in a person-centred manner to meet individual care plans and goals.
* Contribute to developing and improving care methods and service delivery.
Essential Requirements
* Full QQI Level 5 (8 modules) in Social Care, Healthcare, or Nursing.
* Minimum of 1 year's experience supporting vulnerable adults or adults with intellectual disabilities.
* Full clean driver's licence and own transport.
* Fluent English with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficient IT skills (Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Teams).
* Knowledge of HIQA regulations and the New Directions model.
