Background:
Blanchardstown & Inner City Home Care is a well-established not-for-profit home care provider operating in North Dublin (Dublin 1, 7 & 15).
Originally established over 30 years ago the company has a strong track record in delivering quality home care and support to elderly people and people with special needs living within this catchment area.
Community:
Minimum delivery of 20 hours of care per week, as part of the 37.5 hour working week.
To undertake client reviews in relation to the care they are receiving
To carry out the staff introductions with new clients
To support staff shadowing – and be a point of contact for new carers (within your working hours)
To undertake emergency over – Rapid response (filling new packages and discharges) (within your working hours and agreed area of working)
To evaluate and monitor the quality of the care delivered to clients and report to the area supervisor with concerns (training will be provided on this)
Support and assist with care team development
Checking and collecting journal books from client's houses
Delivery of Support Plans, journal books and gloves to client's homes when required
Delivery of PPE when required
Office:
To update online system documentation i.e., reviews and spot checks
To develop and plan working week by booking in reviews (including confirming with NOK and clients)
To complete spot checks with Healthcare staff
To be responsible for filing relevant paperwork
To provide support for Scheduling Team with uncovered calls/tasks in emergency if needed (within working hours and within agreed area)

General Responsibilities
Treating Service Users with dignity, sensitivity and respect.
Listening, talking to and getting to know Service Users.
Making sure that Service Users know the relevant Company's policies and procedures.
Encouraging Service Users to have an input into care provision.
Helping Service Users to be safe, happy and have as much fun as possible.
Encouraging Service Users to express feelings, fears and experiences openly.
Where applicable, respecting Service Users' privacy in bathrooms and in relation to personal care in general.
Dressing, undressing and preparing Service Users for trips out.
Washing, bathing, showering, shaving, grooming and, but not limited to, cleaning teeth.
Washing and brushing hair.
Taking care of nails (fingernails only).
Helping Service Users with toileting and all aspects of personal hygiene.
Getting Service Users in and out of bed safely.
Assisting with the use of Aids to Daily Living/ Rehabilitation Aids, as required.
Helping with rehabilitation programmes, as prescribed by Healthcare professionals.
Always responding to complaints or allegations.
Helping Service Users realise the difference between confidentiality and secrecy.
Being sensitive to the fact that some Service Users are more vulnerable and may have special needs.
Preparing snacks and meals according to Service Users' likes/dislikes.
Assisting with feeding, as required.
Carrying out general cleaning duties, to include, but not limited to, cleaning, dusting, vacuuming and polishing.
Bed making, laundering, hand-washing, ironing and, but not limited to, light needlework, as required.
Shopping, the preparation of shopping lists and assistance with budgeting.
Assisting with personal finances, to include paying bills and collecting pensions in some circumstances.

You will shadow experienced carers until you are confident to start working with your own clients.
We will ensure that you have all the mandatory training that is required before you start and we will process your Garda Vetting.
