Role Overview
Provide a quality and professional service to adults with vision loss, moderate the impact of vision loss, and support them to achieve their potential.

Responsibilities
Coordinate with referrers and manage intake of referrals following Vision Ireland's protocols.
Conduct in-depth functional impact assessments at baseline and ongoing for adults referred to Vision Ireland services.
Independently manage a caseload using a tiered approach to intervention based on assessed needs.
Advise and deliver intervention programmes to adults with vision loss, covering independent living skills, visual enhancement, compensatory skills, communication skills & assistive technology, safe independent travel, environmental adaptation.
Provide appropriate emotional support, demonstrate empathy, and refer for further support when necessary.
Provide information on sight loss to individuals, families and the general public.
Collaborate with individuals referred and other professionals throughout service provision to ensure optimal outcomes.
Liaise with government, statutory and voluntary bodies to advocate for the needs and rights of people with vision impairment and their families.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge, contribute to team learning, and assist in policy, standards setting, evaluation of practice and service.
Maintain case and work records to required standards and comply with Vision Ireland policies relating to electronic record keeping, file maintenance, information sharing, confidentiality, health and safety.
Adhere to Vision Ireland and statutory Service User Protection measures.
Qualifications & Experience
Third‑level qualification in occupational therapy or a relevant health/social science field (essential).
Experience working with adults with a disability (advantage).
Willingness and ability to travel within the Dublin South‑West region.
Good standard of written and spoken English.
