Our client is a well-established and highly regarded Cork-based industrial electrical contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex electrical packages across industrial and commercial environments.
Due to a robust and long-term project pipeline, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their growing engineering team.
All projects are local to Cork, offering long-term stability, minimal travel and an excellent work-life balance.
The Role
The Senior Electrical Engineer will play a key role in the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical systems on major industrial projects.
You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest technical standards.
This is a senior, hands-on engineering role with clear progression potential within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage electrical engineering activities across multiple industrial projects
Review and manage electrical designs, specifications, and technical submissions
Coordinate with project management, construction, and commissioning teams
Oversee procurement of electrical materials and specialist subcontractors
Ensure compliance with project specifications, Irish & international standards, and safety regulations
Provide technical support and problem-solving during construction and commissioning
Review drawings, calculations, test documentation, and handover packs
Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians
Liaise directly with clients, consultants, and statutory authorities as required
Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Minimum 5+ years' experience in electrical engineering within industrial, commercial, or large-scale construction environments
Strong knowledge of LV & MV systems, power distribution, lighting, earthing, and control systems
Experience working with electrical contractors or specialist engineering firms
Excellent understanding of Irish electrical standards and regulations
Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects to programme
