Overview
Dillon Engineering Services, on behalf of our client, is seeking an experienced
Lead Electrical Engineer
to support the delivery of
large-scale industrial and pharmaceutical projects
in
Cork or Dublin
. This is a senior, hands-on design role within a multi-disciplinary project environment, requiring strong technical capability and proven experience delivering complex electrical engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Creation and modification of electrical specifications, drawings, datasheets, and schedules.
Specification, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of:
* MV & LV Switchgear
* Conventional and Intelligent MCCs
* VSDs, Transformers, UPS Systems, Generators
* Power Factor Correction Equipment
* MV and LV power system design.
* Electrical design to support industrial facilities.
* Execution of projects within a multi-discipline
3D design environment
.
Power systems and equipment analysis, including:
* Short circuit calculations
* Protection coordination and discrimination studies
Design of electrical systems in compliance with
IS, EN, and IEC standards
, including:
* Power and lighting
* Cabling and containment systems
* Cat 6 structured cabling
* Fire alarm systems
* Earthing and lightning protection
* Participation in inter-discipline design workflows.
* Coordination with Process, Piping, Mechanical packages, and 3D models.
Requirements
* Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering (Chartered status an advantage).
* 10–15+ years' experience
working as an Electrical Engineer.
* Strong experience delivering electrical engineering design in line with
budget, schedule, and quality requirements
.
* Proven experience working on
large-scale projects
.
* Thorough knowledge of electrical design and engineering techniques.
* In-depth knowledge of
ETCI Wiring Regulations, IEC Standards, and EN Standards
.
* Experience working within
schedule-driven, multi-disciplinary project teams
.
* Pharmaceutical project experience is a
significant advantage
(commercial experience also considered).
* Strong, proactive communication skills.
