Overview
Reporting into the project team, you will fully understand and manage the design requirements of the tender/project.
John Sisk & Son has been building excellence as a family-owned international construction company by offering trust, certainty, and value to our clients while being at the heart of change. This role will be with our Sisk Infrastructure team, which tender and deliver some of the most iconic Civil Engineering Projects in Ireland. It offers an opportunity to work on these projects from Tender to Completion and gain further experience in innovative Civil Engineering construction techniques.
Responsibilities
1. Manage design consultants, sub-consultants, and design sub-contractors to ensure correct and timely delivery of all design-related information for the execution of the works on site.
2. Manage design coordinators and mentor them in their projects.
3. Contribute to the Employers Requirement/Contractor Proposal Compatibility.
4. Implement Sisk Design Management Procedures, working with Project Teams and Head Office Support to deliver design requirements.
5. Engage with Employer and their agents on design aspects to proceed to construction.
6. Assist the project team with design and material choices for incorporation into the works.
7. Lead Value Engineering practices to generate value for projects.
8. Chair and minute design meetings, ensuring production of information aligns with the design.
Experience
1. Degree in a construction-related discipline, preferably Civil or Structural.
2. Experience as a Civil Engineer in Design of Civil Engineering Projects.
3. Minimum of 6 years in Design, Design Management, or Design Coordination roles.
4. Understanding of different Client procurement routes and experience in pre-construction stages.
5. Knowledge of D&B contracts, Contract Management Software, and standards like TII.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Common Data Environments such as Dalux, View Point, or 4Projects.
7. Commercial awareness and industry experience.
