Role Title: Plumbing & Heating Trade Counter Assistant
Location: Galway
Role Purpose:
On behalf of our client, a leading supplier in the construction and building materials sector, we are currently recruiting for a Plumbing & Heating Sales Advisor to join their team in Galway.
This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused individual with strong product knowledge and a passion for delivering exceptional service. The successful candidate will be based at the trade counter, playing a key role in supporting both retail and trade customers with their plumbing and heating needs.
Key Accountabilities:
- Deliver first-class customer service at the trade counter and over the phone, in line with company standards
- Advise customers on product selection, including technical features and benefits
- Operate the in-house stock and sales system, including handling cash and processing transactions
- Support the Shop Manager in merchandising, cleanliness, and maintaining a safe retail environment
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to ensure timely product sourcing and delivery
- Provide support to internal and external sales teams when required
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of plumbing and heating products, with a willingness to continue learning
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role within the construction or building materials sector is essential
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail/trade counter environment
- Proficient IT skills, with a good working knowledge of standard software packages
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering excellent service
- Experience working on a trade counter is desirable but not essential
