This role involves full responsibility for the day-to-day catering operation, leading and developing the on-site team, managing financial performance, and ensuring consistently high standards of food, service, and compliance. Responsibilities of the General Manager:
10. Lead the day-to-day operations of multiple food service units across the site
11. Deliver outstanding service and food quality in line with company and client expectations
12. Manage, mentor, and develop a large, diverse team, including succession planning and performance reviews
13. Set and drive strategic goals and business plans for 12-24 months
14. Build strong relationships with on-site stakeholders and clients
15. Ensure compliance with all health & safety and food safety regulations
16. Deliver financial targets, manage budgets, and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency
17. Support innovation in menus, service, sustainability, and customer engagement
18. Handle recruitment, training, and HR processes on-site
19. Use customer feedback and business data to drive continuous improvement
Requirements of the General Manager:
20. Proven experience in a senior operational role within hospitality, catering, or food services, ideally in a healthcare setting
21. Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, coaching-led approach
22. Financially literate with experience managing budgets and KPIs
23. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
24. High attention to detail with a focus on quality, safety, and customer experience
25. A proactive mindset with a passion for people development, innovation, and service excellence
26. Relevant qualifications in hospitality management, food safety, or similar are desirable
