Overview:We are seeking aSenior Packaging Engineerto join a global packaging organization supporting medical device products used by patients worldwide. This role plays a critical part in designing, developing, and validating packaging systems that ensure product safety, regulatory compliance, and optimal patient outcomes.You will lead packaging initiatives from concept through commercialization, working cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams. This is an opportunity to influence packaging strategy, drive innovation, and support life-changing healthcare products.Key Responsibilities:Lead packaging development projects for new product introductions and changes to existing productsDesign, develop, and validate sterile and non-sterile packaging systemsAuthor and execute packaging validation protocols and reportsEnsure compliance with global regulatory and quality standardsDrive cost reduction, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiativesProvide technical leadership and influence packaging decisions across teamsSupport audits, regulatory submissions, and represent the organization at industry forums as neededQualifications:6+ years of packaging engineering experience, preferably within medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or regulated consumer productsStrong working knowledge of ISO 11607, ASTM, ISTA, and relevant FDA/EU MDR requirementsProven experience with packaging validation, technical documentation, and statistical analysisAbility to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Experience:Experience supporting global product launchesFamiliarity with risk management and design controlsExposure to packaging automation, material optimization, or sustainability initiativesFor a confidential conversation about the role please apply for the role or contact Owen Clancy at By applying to this job post you agree that Sterling Engineering may process your personal data for recruitment purpose.
