Core Responsibilities Working under the guidance of Senior Automation Engineers, you will support the full lifecycle of site control systems: PLC & HMI Support: Assist in the development, basic programming, and troubleshooting of PLC systems (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley) and HMI interfaces. System Maintenance: Support the maintenance team in diagnosing complex automation faults to minimise production downtime. Data & Connectivity: Assist in the integration of sensors, drives, and networked devices (Profinet/Ethernet IP) for real-time data collection and OEE monitoring. Project Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, including electrical schematics, software version controls, and functional descriptions. Process Improvement: Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) projects to optimise machine cycle times and energy efficiency through logic upgrades. Candidate Profile Education: A Level 8 Degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering. Technical Interest: A strong academic foundation in control theory, ladder logic, or higher-level programming languages. Software Skills: Familiarity with a major PLC programming environment or SCADA software (gained through university projects or internships) is a distinct advantage. Aptitude: A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a keen interest in how software interacts with physical machinery.
