Energy Engineer
Codema, Dublin’s Energy Agency, is recruiting a new Energy Engineer to support local authorities in the Dublin‑Mid East region. The role involves monitoring energy use, identifying saving opportunities, and helping authorities meet low‑carbon targets by 2030.
What you will do
Support Local Authority Energy Management team in delivering energy management practices.
Develop in‑depth knowledge of client needs and build relationships with key stakeholders.
Implement and maintain ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems: attend energy team meetings, generate performance reports, identify projects for the Register of Opportunities.
Monitor and report energy data: maintain M&R database for SEAI, collect annual data, verify monitoring, identify ongoing efficiency projects.
Implement energy efficiency measures, analyse building usage, measure and verify project savings.
Collaborate with Codema teams and undertake duties to support Codema’s Strategy.
Essential Qualifications
Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar role.
NFQ Level 7 or 8 Degree in Engineering, Building Services or equivalent.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving and quantitative skills.
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder liaison skills.
Clear written and oral communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work both independently and in a team.
Preferred Experience
Experience working with public sector local authorities.
Certifications such as CEM, CMVP, IPMVP, SEAI Certified Auditor, or BER assessor.
Project management experience.
Energy auditing, energy analysis, measurement & verification experience.
Knowledge of ISO 50001 implementation and public sector energy obligations.
Innovative problem‑solving in a timely manner.

Indicative starting salary €40,000‑€46,000 gross per annum.
