We are working a well-established accountancy practice based in West Cork, serving a loyal and diverse client base for over 40 years. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated
Senior Accountant
to join our team on a full-time, office-based basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who is looking to take ownership of a client portfolio, play an active role in practice management, and progress their career towards partnership.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and take full responsibility for your own portfolio of clients across a range of sectors
* Preparation and review of accounts and financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
* Preparation and submission of personal and corporate tax returns
* Provide proactive tax planning, financial, and business advice tailored to client needs
* Liaise directly with clients, building and maintaining strong long-term relationships
* Supervise, mentor, and support junior staff, including reviewing their work and assisting with development
* Work closely with partners and colleagues in the overall management and development of the practice
* Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax legislation, and regulatory requirements
* Efficient use and management of all relevant accounting and practice software packages
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum of
2 years' post-qualification experience
in a small to medium-sized accountancy practice
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent)
* Strong experience in accounts preparation and tax compliance for a broad client base
* Solid knowledge of
personal and corporate tax
; a tax qualification would be an advantage
* Proven ability to manage a client portfolio independently
* Experience managing or supervising junior staff
* Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Confident working with modern accounting and practice management software
* Comfortable working in a
full-time, office-based role
