Position Description Networks Telecoms are responsible for the design, delivery, and operation of ESB Networks National Telecommunications Infrastructure.
The Telecoms Service & Deployment Teams - Central & Southeast, is responsible for the safe installation, support and maintenance of telecoms technologies such as data traffic multiplexers, microwave radio links, SCADA UHF polling radio, satellite, tele-protection schemes, IP networks, telephony services and other Telecoms equipment successful candidates will play a key role in the safe deployment, operation, maintenance and future growth of ESB's national telecommunications network.
On-Call or Availability may be a feature of this role.
Key Responsibilities Support and maintenance of telecoms equipment and infrastructure Co-ordination of 3rd party contractors and equipment partners.
Support, maintain and fault find DC Power and UPS standby power systems.
Implement and support SCADA and Protection systems.
Project management support for Telecommunications projects in ESB Networks, ESB Group and Eir Grid.
Experience and Qualifications Essential Either a 3rd Level qualification (NFQ Level 6/ 7) in an electrical/ telecommunications/IT discipline or minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.
Full driving licence.
Safety focused approach.
Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
Adaptability and flexibility.
Desirable Health & Safety experience/qualification.
Experience working on electrical systems.
Experience with preparation of safety documentation.
Awareness of telecommunications technologies.
Project experience.
Familiarity with HV environments.
Location This position will be based in ESB Networks Athlone & Leopardstown.
However, a flexible reporting location could be considered within these regions.
