Diabetes Care Kilkenny
Our new manufacturing facility in Kilkenny, opening in 2024, will meet the growing demand for Abbott's Diabetes Care products. It will be a hub for engineering, quality, and medical device manufacturing, producing technologies like the FreeStyle Libre 3, a system providing real-time glucose readings and alarms via smartphones, enabling people with diabetes to live better lives.

This role requires knowledge of high-speed automated manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
1. Provide solutions through structured problem-solving techniques.
2. Offer technical leadership on product and process issues.
3. Develop in-depth process knowledge.
4. Become a subject matter expert in process & product after training.
5. Liaise with equipment suppliers, perform and manage equipment installations (SAT/FAT).
6. Monitor machine performance (OEE/KPIs) to maximize output.
7. Contribute to analytical development, data analysis, and reporting.
8. Design and contribute to protocols, specifications, and validation documents (IQ/OQ/PQ).
9. Perform process optimization trials and validation.
10. Manage commodity changes and coordinate with vendors on process modifications.
11. Identify opportunities for process or product improvements.
12. Maintain project timelines and communicate updates to leadership.
13. Manage data, perform trending, and report on product performance.
14. Investigate issues with support from SMEs.
15. Show leadership with a focus on future development.
16. Possess knowledge of analytical techniques and troubleshooting skills.
17. Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
18. Proven technical writing skills and rationale development for equipment and processes.
Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field is desired, along with 2+ years of relevant engineering or operational experience. Post-graduate education may be considered. Preferred degrees include Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
Ability to interpret data, resolve complex analytical problems, recognize trends, and propose solutions is essential. Mechanical and electrical skills, computer proficiency (Excel, Word), and statistical expertise are required. Good organizational skills, attention to detail, leadership qualities, and an innovative approach are advantageous.
