Apleona Ireland is looking for a Multitasking Home Attendant to join our team at our facility in Monasterevin, Co Kildare
Shift Pattern Monday - Sunday, average working hours: 35-44 hours per week
Main duties and responsibilities
Carry out assigned and delegated responsibilities (bathing/showering, toileting etc.)
Respond to emergency needs when they arise and facilitate the safe removal of residents in accordance with local Emergency plans.
Respect residents/ service users and their families showing dignity, courtesy and professionalism at all times.
Under direction of a relevant manager/professional assist residents/ service users in preparation for their meals
Transport/escort residents/ service users within or outside the service area as necessary
Assist with care of the deceased, preparation and transfer to the mortuary as required by line manager.
Transport medical records, specimens, medical gases, equipment, medicines, stores, etc. within or outside the service when necessary.
Be responsible for the general cleaning and disinfecting of resident/ service user equipment, wheelchairs, trolleys/beds, chairs or other ward/service equipment
Vacuum carpets and mop/buff floors, clean toilets and polish glass/brass surfaces. collect and dispose of rubbish.
Use cleaning materials and equipment safely (per COSHH guidelines).
Display safety signage during cleaning operations and report defects and safety issues promptly.
Service of food and/or beverages and preparation of service area and/or service points
Collect storage of food items and equipment after service
Maintain personal hygiene, appearance, and uniform to company regulations always.
Attend staff meetings, induction and mandatory in-service training courses
As required update records in line with local policy relevant to the role assigned
Communicate clearly and effectively with all grades of staff
Report any accidents, near misses or incidents
Qualifications and experience
Possess the relevant QQI Further Education and Training (FET) Level 5 Certificate in Health Service Skills Or FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Health Service Skills or Healthcare Support
Be currently employed as an Attendant, Multi-Task or a comparable role and be willing to undertake a QQI/FET Level 5 programme in Health Service Skills or equivalent
Flexible approach to working hours, rostering e.g. unsocial hours/shift work, night duty, attitude to work
Ability to work on your own as well as part of a team
Confidentiality, empathy and remaining calm under pressure
