We are currently recruiting an
Assistant Person In Charge
for a well-established
Nursing Home in County Tipperary
.
Responsibilities
Assist and support the Person in Charge (PIC) in the management of the nursing home's operations, organisation, and staff.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care in a professional, respectful, and supportive environment.
Act as the lead in the absence of the PIC, fulfilling responsibilities in line with the
Health Act ****
and
HIQA National Quality Standards
.
Provide clinical supervision, leadership, and mentorship to nursing and care teams.
Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, best practice guidelines, and Nursing homes policies.
Oversee safeguarding procedures, ensuring that all concerns are appropriately reported and managed.
Plan and manage staffing levels to ensure efficient workforce deployment and the maintenance of high standards of care.
Support staff development by fostering a positive learning environment and promoting continuous improvement.
Serve as a resource for nursing staff by staying informed of current developments and best practices in nursing care.
Promote health and safety, maintaining a safe working environment, and be available for day, night, and weekend shifts as required.
Requirements
Registered Nurse with An Bord Altranais (active PIN required).
Third-level degree in Nursing.
Minimum of 6 years post-registration nursing experience, including at least 2 years in a nursing home setting.
At least 2 years' experience in a management role.
Post-registration qualification in healthcare management (or willingness to complete).
Post-registration qualification in Gerontology or Dementia Care is desirable.
Current and valid certifications in Infection Control, Manual and Resident Moving & Handling, Medication Management, Dementia, CPR, and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (training can be provided if required).
Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to motivate and support a high-performing team.
Commitment to delivering outstanding care to older people.
