Job Description - General Operative (Factory Cleaner) We are seeking a dedicated and proactive General Operative to join our team.
This role is vital in ensuring our factory and facilities are maintained to the highest standards, supporting a clean, safe, and efficient working environment for all.
As part of our operations team, you will take responsibility for cleaning and upkeep across production areas, the mixing plant, link building, and external grounds.
This is a hands-on role where attention to detail, reliability, and pride in your work will be valued and recognised.
Key Responsibilities Carry out daily cleaning duties across the factory floor, production areas, mixing plant, and link building.
Operate cleaning machinery to maintain a safe and hygienic workplace.
Bale and then transfer bales to the designated holding area.
Empty small bins at production lines and keep waste areas tidy.
Report faulty equipment, safety hazards, or maintenance issues promptly.
Ensure cleaning stores are well organised, with equipment always stored safely.
Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness both inside the factory and across the external grounds.
Handle, store, and dispose of cleaning products in line with best practice and safety guidelines.
Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
What We're Looking For Minimum 1 year's experience in a cleaning role, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Forklift licence (advantageous).
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
High level of attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Punctual, reliable, and well-organised with good time management skills.
