About the Role
OAK Global offers a rare opportunity to work within a true greenfield environment. Free from legacy systems, complex migrations, or transformation constraints, we are building a modern, best-in-class technology architecture designed to deliver exceptional business value from day one.
This role offers the opportunity to play a foundational role in defining and building AI capabilities across OCEAN, OAK Global’s Capital Exposure and Analytics Network.
This is a senior contributor role with technical leadership responsibility. As the first AI engineer working on OCEAN, you will play a key role in shaping the architecture, implementation patterns and engineering standards for AI-enabled capabilities across it.
Key Responsibilities:
AI Application Development
Lead end-to-end design and delivery of proprietary AI capabilities and features that enhance underwriting intelligence, operational decision-making and analytical workflows
Own the technical lifecycle of AI capabilities, including evaluation, deployment, monitoring, iteration and continuous improvement
Design AI application architectures that enable long-term integration with OAK’s data platform and OCEAN
Contribute to strategic technology initiatives across the company
AI Evaluation & Production Readiness
Translate complex requirements into reliable AI-enabled software with clear controls, testing and operational ownership
Harden AI prototypes and internal tools into production-grade components that are reliable, resilient, secure and auditable
Help to translate research outputs and business hypotheses into measurable experiments, prototypes and implementation plans
Technical Leadership
Provide technical leadership through architecture decisions, engineering judgement and high-quality implementation
Contribute technical feasibility, risk and implementation assessments to AI opportunity prioritisation
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and analytical teams working on AI-enabled capabilities
What We’re Looking For:
Experience & Attributes:
Experience designing AI application architectures and integrating internal data platforms, analytical models, software applications and third-party model providers
Experience deploying, monitoring and supporting production AI / ML systems, including model evaluation, batch or real-time inference and operational support
MSc/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, AI/ML or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
Technical Skills:
Programming
Python
TypeScript
Strong experience of production ML systems including model evaluation, batch or real-time inference and monitoring
Standard integration/orchestration protocols e.g. LLM APIs and MCP for connecting AI Agents to internal and external tooling
RAG, embeddings and vector search
Agentic workflow design, model evaluation and regression testing
AI guardrails, human-in-the-loop review and responsible AI controls
Cloud and Infrastructure
Familiarity with AWS services including Bedrock, AgentCore, SageMaker, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, S3, DynamoDB
Graph-oriented, retrieval-based or agentic system architecture patterns on AWS or equivalent
Terraform/Terraform Code
Software Engineering
Git / GitHub
Python service development, REST API design and implementation
Observability, reliability, maintainability, and secure scalable engineering practices
Strong practical use of AI coding tools such as Codex, with sound judgement around quality, review and production readiness

Evaluation, monitoring and governance capabilities supporting traceable, observable and operationally controlled deployment of AI within business-critical workflows
Reusable engineering patterns, service interfaces and architectural foundations supporting the long-term evolution of AI-native capabilities across OCEAN
