Job Description Position Title: Quality and Safety Administrator Hours: 39 hours per week Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time Reporting To: Head of Quality, Risk, Compliance & Patient Administration Working Relationships: All Departments and Clinical Units About the Organisation A specialist mental health facility offering neuropsychiatric services to adults with complex conditions such as Alzheimers, Parkinsons, Huntingtons Disease, early-onset dementia, schizophrenia, and mood disorders. The facility is uniquely positioned as the only service of its kind nationally for individuals with Huntingtons Disease, and it emphasises evidence-based recovery practices delivered by a multidisciplinary team. Role Summary The Quality & Safety Administrator will promote a culture of compliance, safety, and continuous quality improvement. They will support cross-functional teams in key areas including: Mental Health Act administration Audit scheduling and compliance Quality improvement planning Risk and incident management Document and medical records control Electronic patient record implementation Complaint and feedback analysis Key ResponsibilitiesMental Health Act Administration Guide the practical application of the Mental Health Act 2001 Maintain compliance systems and coordinate Mental Health Tribunals Liaise with the Mental Health Commission and appointed legal/clinical representatives Support staff with training and updates on relevant legislation Quality & Compliance Support regulatory compliance and internal audits Maintain document control systems (e.g., QPulse) Prepare for external inspections (e.g., MHC, HSA, DGSA) Track quality improvement plans and policy acknowledgements Incident & Risk Management Support risk register maintenance and incident tracking Conduct incident trend analysis Assist with reporting to national systems (e.g., NIMS) Complaints & Feedback Track and analyse patient and staff feedback Assist in the implementation of action plans based on feedback data Administrative Duties Support the administration of quality and patient safety systems Help with electronic patient record rollouts and ICT user access Manage record retrieval and election processes for inpatients Attend meetings and support accurate record-keeping Candidate ProfileEssential Requirements Minimum 2 years experience in healthcare or a relevant clinical setting Proven knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2001 and related quality standards Strong IT skills, including document management and clinical systems Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organisational abilities Desirable Qualifications Experience in a mental health setting Third-level qualification in a health-related discipline Desirable Competencies Training and policy rollout skills Report writing and audit support Leadership in patient safety or quality improvement projects Skills: mental health
