Our client, a global leader in the medical device sector, requires and experienced Automation Engineer to join their team.
The successful candidate will support both manufacturing and R&D projects on-site.
Please note - applicants need to have a stamp 4 or to have unrestricted full working rights for Ireland
Role
1. Design and develop automation systems and processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
2. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.
3. Create detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
4. Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed automation solutions.
5. Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of automation systems.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to automation equipment and software.
7. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
8. Provide training and support to end-users on the operation and maintenance of automation systems.
9. Prepare technical documentation, including user manuals, maintenance procedures, and project reports.
Requirements
10. National Framework of Qualifications (NQF) level 7 full qualification ( credits) in a relevant discipline.
11. Experience in automation engineering, with a proven track record of successful automation projects in the medical device industry
12. Strong knowledge of automation systems, PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
13. Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
14. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
15. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
16. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
17. Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
