Public Sector Quantity Surveyor Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team and manage cost control for a range of civil engineering and electrical projects.
The successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered within budget, and all aspects of procurement and cost management comply with state regulations and standards.
You will work closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors, Framework Owners and other design professionals, clients and contractors.
Salary and Job Description
* Salary: €55,000 - €65,000

Responsibilities
1. Manage project costs across all phases, including preparing estimates, bills of quantities, managing contractor payments, assessing variations, and finalizing accounts.
2. Prepare Framework Tender Documentation and participate in pre-qualification and tender evaluations, in collaboration with the Procurement team.
3. Conduct site evaluations, commercial audits, and deliver commercial awareness training to site personnel and project teams.
4. Analyze data from past projects and work programs to facilitate lessons learned and provide budgeting insights for future initiatives.
5. Monitor and forecast both OPEX and CAPEX programs.
6. Advocate for a strong safety culture across all activities, with a visible commitment to safety management.
7. Ensure adherence to Quality Procedures on all projects.
8. Support the professional development and mentoring of junior staff.
9. Lead tender assessments, evaluations, and negotiations.
10. Produce and interpret reports for stakeholders.
11. Assist in the mentoring and development of junior team members.
Requirements
* A Level 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification.
* A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in Quantity Surveying.
* Self-driven with strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with colleagues.
* Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions, applying both logical reasoning and creative problem-solving.
* Strong teamwork skills with a focus on knowledge sharing and collaboration.
* Commitment to delivering high-quality work with attention to detail.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and strong report writing abilities.
* A proven track record of being results-oriented and focused on customer satisfaction.
* Flexible approach to work, including the willingness to travel nationwide when required.
* Solid knowledge of administering major contract conditions such as FIDIC, GCCC, NECC, or similar.
* A full, clean EU driving license with access to a car.
