Excel Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Operative to serve a customer-focused Trade Home DIY and Garden Centre based in Galway.
This is temp contract, with a view to permanency.
Job Details:
Shift Pattern: Mon – Fri
Shift Hours: 7:30/ 8:30am – 16:30/ 17:30pm
Pay Rate: €15 per hour
Role Responsibilities
1. Receive, check, and store incoming deliveries accurately.
2. Pick and prepare customer and trade orders for collection or delivery.
3. Load and unload goods from vehicles safely and efficiently.
4. Ensure correct labelling, placement, and rotation of stock.
5. Keep warehouse areas clean, tidy, and compliant with health & safety regulations.
6. Conduct regular stock counts and assist with inventory control.
7. Report any damaged, missing, or incorrect stock to the warehouse supervisor.
8. Liaise with shop floor staff and delivery drivers to ensure timely order fulfilment.
9. Follow all company policies regarding safety, stock handling, and site procedures.
Requirements
10. Essential:
Previous experience in a warehouse, trade counter, or stock-handling role.
Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy items and performing manual handling duties.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Good communication and team working abilities.
Punctual, reliable, and responsible.
Desirable:
Experience in a trade, building supplies, or garden centre environment.
Familiarity with warehouse stock systems or hand held scanners.
Forklift licence or warehouse equipment experience (training can be provided).
Basic understanding of stock control processes.
